Shoot Mapping Follow-up

We conducted our first commercial vineyard shoot and soil scan yesterday. Following the same workflow as the Early Season Grapevine Shoot Mapping tutorial, I wanted to show how quickly we were able to generate a validated vineyard shoot map.

  • Vineyard size: 11.44 acres

  • Time to scan driving every other row: 52 minutes

  • Time to download, process, and interpolate an NDVI map: 5 minutes

  • Time to collect validation shoot counts from georeferenced vine pictures: 30 minutes

  • Total time to to generate a validated vineyard shoot count map: 1 hour and 27 minutes
